Introduction

wevo is a cryptographic proposal and signing application that allows users to create, sign, and manage proposals between parties using public-key cryptography. This privacy policy explains how your data is handled.

Data Collected and Stored

wevo stores the following data locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account:

• Identities: Your cryptographic identities (nicknames and public keys). Private keys are stored exclusively in your device's secure Keychain and are never transmitted anywhere.
• Contacts: Public keys and nicknames of other users you have added as contacts.
• Spaces: Space names and server URLs you have configured.
• Proposals: Proposal messages, their SHA-256 content hashes, and associated cryptographic signatures.

Data Sent to External Servers

When you use a Space connected to a wevo-space server, the following data is transmitted to that server:

• A unique proposal ID
• A SHA-256 hash of your proposal message (not the message itself)
• Public keys of the creator and counterparty
• Cryptographic signatures for each action (create, sign, honor, part, dissolve)
• Timestamps of each action

The content of your proposal messages is never sent to any server. Only a one-way hash is transmitted, which cannot be used to reconstruct the original message.

The server you connect to is determined by the Space configuration you set up. Please review the privacy policy of the server operator if applicable.

iCloud Sync

wevo uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your Spaces, Proposals, and Contacts across your own devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's privacy practices. The developer cannot access this data.

Cryptographic Keys

Your private keys are stored exclusively in your device's Keychain and are synced to your personal iCloud Keychain if iCloud Keychain is enabled. Private keys are never transmitted to any server or third party. Public keys are shared intentionally as part of the proposal workflow.

File Sharing via AirDrop

wevo supports sharing proposal, identity, and contact files via AirDrop. These files are transferred directly between devices using Apple's peer-to-peer technology and do not pass through any server.

Third-Party Services

wevo does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external services used are:

• Apple's iCloud and CloudKit for data synchronization between your own devices
• A wevo-space server, if you configure a Space with a server URL

Crash Reports and Diagnostics

We use only Apple's standard crash reporting and diagnostics tools. These reports:

• Are managed entirely by Apple
• Do not contain your proposal content or private keys
• Help us improve app stability and performance
• Can be disabled in your device settings

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third parties beyond the wevo-space server you explicitly configure. Your private keys and proposal message content remain exclusively on your device and in your personal iCloud account.

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is accessible within the app at any time
• Deletion: You can delete individual identities, proposals, spaces, or contacts from within the app
• Export: You can export proposals and identities via AirDrop
• iCloud Management: You can manage or delete iCloud data through your Apple ID settings

Children's Privacy

wevo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to the app, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

International Users

wevo uses Apple's iCloud infrastructure, which complies with applicable data protection laws in your region. Your data is subject to Apple's data handling practices based on your location.
